Steel City Lighting is taking part in CFC Shalford’s ‘Lighting Up My Future’ football event next Thursday evening in Braintree, Essex with the assistance of West Ham and England footballer, Dean Ashton. The striker will be switching on the SCL Direct floodlights, which were recently purchased by the football club thanks to grant assisted funding.
The floodlights are intended to help the club’s players enjoy football safely during the winter months. Although the venue has never had specialist lighting before, it is hoped the installation of the floodlights will encourage locals to be more active and continue to play sports during the winter months.
[Person], [job title] at Steel City Lighting said, “It’s extremely important to us to be able to give something back to local communities so we were delighted to work with CFC Shalford to help them find the best lighting solution to meet their requirements. We’re all incredibly excited at the prospect of England striker Dean Ashton marking the event with a ceremonial lighting.
“We all know how important it is stay active so we’re happy to have played our part with outdoor lighting that will encourage members of CFC Shalford and their families to be active whatever the season and play a role in the community.”
Tipped as one of the country’s brightest young forwards, Ashton has played for England at under-19 and senior team level. Signed by West Ham in 2006 in a club record £7.25 million deal, Ashton has been on the one to watch list ever since. Despite a difficult few years plagues by injuries, the Striker has established himself as a force to be reckoned with and will be passing on some of his Premier League expertise to CFC Shalford’s 17-20 year-olds at Thursday’s event.
